Our Carp

We now have between 80 and 100 carp, with some spectacular commons between 60 and 70lbs+ depending on the time of year.

Approximately 15 fish over 50lbs including mirrors to over 60lb, with many 30s and 40s.

Most of our stock show great growth rate, especially the younger fish have been exceptional

Each year sees new fish pass the magical 40 and 50lb barriers, with several more rapidly approaching the 60lb mark.

Our French Carp

We have actively managed many aspects of the lake to help our carp thrive in a balanced fishery. We initially removed 4 tonnes of catfish and increased the availability of naturals, as well as opening up the lake to more light, and ensuring the optimum pH values and natural oxygenation with an all year round lake conditioner and a splash aerator for hotter periods.

One thing about us is that we are very invested in the safety of our fish, lake, and of course our anglers. We want you to have the best possible trip with us, so please understand that our rules are there for a reason. There are no rules that will restrict your opportunity to catch fish! It is vitally important that our fish continue to thrive in their environment, and for us to ensure they are looked after. This includes care during capture and handling, thereby safeguarding them and their surroundings.

We don’t have “poisson chat” but we do have a natural population of crayfish, one of the reasons our fish grow so well, we actively remove all year round to keep the activity as low as possible.
